Kick-off Meeting for the Group Standard “High-Pressure Reverse Circulation Drill Pipes and Joints” Successfully Held at Super Diamond

To promote the standardized and high-quality development of the drilling tools industry, the kick-off meeting for the group standard High-Pressure Reverse Circulation Drill Pipes and Joints was successfully held at Super Diamond's headquarters from June 25 to 26, 2024. The meeting was organized by the China Steel Construction Society and hosted by Super Diamond. Conducted in strict accordance with the first batch of the Society’s 2024 group standard development plan, the event marked the official commencement of substantive standardization work in this field.

The meeting was chaired by Professor Gan Hairen of the Standardization Committee of the China Steel Construction Society. At the opening session, Mr. Xiang Renfa, Chairman of Super Diamond, delivered a welcome speech, extending a warm welcome and sincere appreciation to association leaders, industry experts, and representatives of the drafting and participating organizations. He noted that hosting this important standardization meeting represented strong recognition from both the association and the industry of Super Diamond’s technical expertise and industry influence.

During the meeting, Professor Gan Hairen emphasized that “standards promote innovation and guide industrial progress.” He pointed out that the development of a comprehensive group standard system is not only an effective tool for improving product quality, but also an important mechanism for promoting the healthy development of product design, manufacturing processes, testing procedures, and service standards. Furthermore, standardized guidelines can provide strong support for fostering fair and orderly competition within the industry.

Over the two-day meeting, participating experts conducted in-depth discussions on key topics related to high-pressure reverse circulation drill pipes, including design specifications, material selection, manufacturing processes, testing methods, and acceptance criteria. Detailed exchanges and technical evaluations were also carried out regarding the performance requirements of high-pressure reverse circulation joints, including connection reliability, strength requirements, wear resistance, and operational safety. Participants actively shared their expertise and perspectives, creating a highly productive atmosphere that laid a solid foundation for ensuring the scientific rigor, practicality, and forward-looking nature of the standard.
